6 Technical
specification
6.1 OPERATION
All regulators supplied by your distributor are
approved for use with LUCAS (see page 73 for
addresses).
Power source Air
Air
consumption
52 litres/minute
Air hose Permanently attached, 3.3 m in length,
with unique male connector. The air
hose must always be used together with
a connector hose.
Connector

Hose length 0.2 m. Available with male
connectors suitable for different
standards of air connections.
Approved air
sources for use
with LUCAS
Pressure regulators or wall outlets for
compressed air (medical grade/
breathing quality) should meet the
following specifications:
1. Nominal supply pressure: 3.2–6 bar.
2. Minimum required free flow rate
in relation to nominal pressure
according to Figure 2!. Example
shown: Nominal supply pressure
4.6 bar.
3. Pressure drop at minimum free flow
rate obtained from Figure 2!, must
not exceed the value obtained from
Figure 2@. The shaded area in
Figure 2# illustrates an unacceptably
high pressure drop for nominal supply
pressure 4.6 bar and above.
The performance of the air supply
should be verified according to the
procedures in Section 6.1.1 and 6.1.2. If
you do not know how to do this, please
contact a clinical engineer or your
distributor, for help.
