3.7 TRANSPORTING THE PATIENT
3.7.1 S P
The patient’s arms can be fixed to the device during
transport, using the straps on the support legs
(Figure h). This makes it easier to move the
patient, especially if not in a hospital environment.
WARNING – BLOCKED INTRAVENOUS
CATHETER
Do not tighten the patient strap/straps if drugs are
administered to the patient via an intravenous
catheter.
Caution – Do not lift by the straps
The straps are only intended for securing the
patients arms to LUCAS.
Apply the straps tightly enough to secure the arms,
but do not overtighten as this may reduce blood
circulation to the patient’s hands.
3.7.2 A LUCAS S S
If LUCAS is equipped with LUCAS Stabilisation
Strap (Figure j), apply the Stabilisation Strap
according to its Instructions for Use.
